ASD Case Manager
Immediate full-time opening for ASD Case Manager in Jackson -The ASD Case Manager coordinates services for families with children on the autism spectrum.

Job Responsiblities:

  • Engage with children and families, assisting them to improve their functioning
  • Interact with clients in non-traditional settings and during non-traditional hours
  • Represent clients served and interact with referral sources
  • Serve as the case manager for families assigned, helping them navigate their service network in a productive manner
  • Document services through use of an Electronic Medical Record and other formats
  • Represent clients served through interacting with referral sources and other professionals, supporting the child and family
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning and support

Requirements:

  • Meets or exceeds the qualifications to be considered a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP)
  • Specialized training and one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families and/or who is a psychologist, licensed or limited-licensed master's of social work, licensed or limited-licensed professional counselor; or an individual with at least a bachelor's degree in a mental-health related field from an accredited school
  • Trained and has three years supervised experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families;
  • Or an individual with at least a master’s degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited school who is trained and has one year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide services during non-traditional work hours

Home-Based Clinician
Two immediate full-time openings for a Home-Based Clinician in Jackson and/or Hillsdale location – This position provides therapeutic specialization in children anywhere from 0-17 years of age and their family by providing advanced knowledge in assessment, problem identification, diagnosis and intervention strategies.  Ability to relate and work constructively with vulnerable children and adults.  provide a range of clinical interventions for these families.  Provide case coordination, crisis response and therapeutic intervention in a home and community based program serving Hillsdale/Jackson Counties.  One opening has potential for Lenawee families also.

Interested individuals must have a master's degree in Social Work, counseling, psychology or other appropriate human services discipline with a minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in providing services to families, infant, child and adolescents. Clinical licensure with the State of Michigan commensurate with education and experience.  Ability to work at an in-home setting and travel/work in an office and community settings.  Michigan driver's license with acceptable driving record based on Highfields policy. FTBS (Families Together Building Solutions) Family Counselor
Immediate opening for full-time FTBS Family Counselor in Jackson/Hillsdale/Branch – Highfields, Inc. is a nationally accredited non-profit organization seeking a full-time FTBS Family Counselor to provide solution-focused home-based counseling services to children and families.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other appropriate Human Services discipline.
  • Experience providing counseling services with children and families.
  • Mental Health Licensure with the State of Michigan.
  • The candidate shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.
  • Ability to engage with children and families; develop and implement effective interventions with children and families and provide services with model adherence.
  • Ability to meet expectations of case documentation requirements.
  • Ability to show sensitivity to the service populations’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics

Behavior Treatment Specialist
Two immediate full-time Behavior Treatment Specialist openings at Ingham Academy   Highfields, Inc. is currently seeking a talented Behavior Treatment Specialist for our Ingham Academy. This position is scheduled Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:00.  The essential function of this position is to effectively support the Ingham Academy program by engaging with youth, helping them to maximize their strengths, build assets and a solid educational foundation.

Job duties include the following:

  • Provides support to Ingham Academy's educational program
  • Counsels students and provides treatment
  • Teaches and nurtures students
  • Works actively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Serves as a role model

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, counseling, psychology, or other appropriate human services discipline preferred and 1 year experience working with students or 2 years of college and 2 yrs. experience with students or HS degree and 3 years’ experience working with students.
  • Prefer minimum of one to three years’ experience in providing services to youth in a treatment-based educational setting.
  • Must possess valid driver's license and have a driving record acceptable to agency automobile insurability requirements.
  • Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.
  • Ability to show sensitivity to the service populations' cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

After School Paraprofessional
Immediate opening for intermittent Paraprofessional – We are looking for a Paraprofessional to oversee and implement youth and family activities as part of the Reaching Higher Program to meet the goals of the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. 

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma.  Bachelor degree preferred in child related field:  Childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, physical education and recreation, child development child guidance/counseling, child psychology, family studies and social work, human services, and youth development or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 2 years experience working with youth, in a structured program setting.
  • Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.

Food Service Specialist
Immediate opening for a part-time Food Service Specialist to assist the Food Service Supervisor to prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks in accordance with food nutrition regulations.Interested individuals must be able to plan, prepare and serve nutritional meals for large groups of people in a timely manner.  Assist in maintaining state as well as agency health and sanitization standards in all food service areas. Assist in organizing, operating and maintaining an institutional type kitchen.  Carry out adequate menu planning based upon accepted principles of diet and nutrition.  Assist in dealing effectively and appropriately with sales representatives and food vendors.  Mentor assigned students or staff in food services or kitchen maintenance experiences.  Demonstrate good health by annual physicals and routine TB tests.  knowledge of computer system. Shall be person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.  Show sensitivity to the service populations' cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.  Must pass pre-employment screenings. 
 

Residential Counselor II
Immediate opening for a full-time Residential Counselor – The Residential Counselor supports the daily care and treatment of youth through assessment, goal setting, lesson planning, and planned and unplanned interventions.  Coordinates and leads activities to support the treatment plans of individual youth.

Job duties include the following:

  • Teaches and nurtures youth through providing direct interaction
  • Develops positive relationships with youth
  • Helps youth develop and meet realistic short and long term goals
  • Demonstrates an ability to relate to youth and utilizes appropriate counseling strategies
  • Works to apply the agency's various treatment and campus operations policies, its philosophy of discipline, its information systems and programs into a generalized approach to deal with the unique circumstances of each youth
  • Works to establish a relationship with youth's family, or guardian, maintains personal contact and communication on an on-going basis to improve youth/family/guardian relationship
  • Participates in team meetings to get a clear view of team objectives. Supports and follows through on team goals, objectives, and decisions.

Knowledge or Experience:

  • High school Diploma and 2 years working with youth
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree with 6 months working with youth
