Family Maintenance is a home-based program designed to promote improved community based functioning for families and to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of out-of-home placements. Over the course of 12 weeks of services, a Family Maintenance Specialist provides an average of three hours of weekly services to each family in the program. The Specialist provides services based on the specific needs of each family, including: teaching parenting skills; interventions to keep children safe; family, individual and martial counseling; anger management; teaching appropriate communication skills; house management skills; and promoting self-sufficiency
Family Maintenance is available in Eaton County. All families are referred through the Eaton County Department of Human Services.
