Educators and students in today’s world face an enormous amount of stress. Mindfulness addresses the overall health and sustainability of learning environments and supports the well-being of every person in our educational environments. Bringing mindfulness to schools also helps students and staff manages their stress more effectively and work through it more quickly. Frequent mindfulness practice—even micro-sessions of a few minutes or less—imparts health benefits. Research suggests that mindfulness programs can improve cognitive performance as well as resilience to stress.
